The Home Port Hospitality House is a ministry of Cadence International located in Aiea, less than 15 minutes from Pearl and Hickam.
Cadence International is an evangelical mission agency dedicated to reaching the military communities of the United States and of the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ. For over six decades, Cadence has grown from a small, fledgling mission to an organization with close to 200 missionaries who work in over 50 locations worldwide.
In 2008, the Lord provided us with a wonderful ministry home in Aiea overlooking Pearl Harbor. We have since welcomed service members from every branch of the military into our home for dinner, fellowship, and Bible studies each week. Other opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship are provided through weekend activities, retreats, missions trips, and local outreach.
If you are looking for a place to grow in your faith, meet new friends, and enjoy some great fellowship, then you’re invited to come and visit us. If you would like to get involved, be sure to check out our ministry schedule and activities page. You may also call or email us using the contact information at the bottom of the welcome page.

A Glimpse of the Home Port Hospitality House
Our ministry objectives are simple:
Home Port Hospitality House Director
Steve Nielsen (Annette)
We joined the Cadence team in January 2017 after God made our path straight. Steve was laid off from Lockheed-Martin in June 2015 after 35 years of faithful service. This was not the master plan but we recognized it as the Master’s plan. After a six week sabbatical in 2015, we felt the Lord leading us to a short-term mission’s trip in New Zealand. Once we finished our months of ministry, we were hooked! Our dear friends, Tim and Bobbi Bettger have served with Cadence for decades and suggested we might want to consider being Limited-term Staff to fill in for Hospitality Directors when they need to be away. We agreed and are now looking forward to our first assignment in November 2017. Cadence combines our love for Jesus and love for the men and women who faithfully serve our nation in the military.
Steve became a believer in his twenties when he realized the road he was on was not leading him to happiness or wholeness. Annette became a believer when she was five and has never looked back. Loving and serving the Lord is our hearts’ desire.
